Versatile is a recognized world leader in conductive coating on plastic. This includes our plating plastic capabilities from ABS to polycarbonate, to nylon, to liquid crystal polymer, epoxy, peek, and graphite composites to name a few.

VERSATILE SPRAY PAINTING LTD. IS  FOUNDED BY PATRICK HESLIN AND DOUG HOWARTH

1992

VSP RECEIVES THE PRESTIGIOUS ISO 9000 REGISTRATION AND RECEIVES TIER 1 STATUS.

WE SHIP TO STOCK TO NORTEL WORLD WIDE

1996

VSP DOUBLES ITS CAPACITY FOR NORTEL AND CISCO RELATED PROGRAMS.

WE TAKE OVER A SECOND BUILDING GIVING US A TOTAL CAPACITY OF 30,000 SQUARE FEET. 

2001-2004

WE WEATHERED THE NORTEL AND TECHNOLOGY CRISIS AND DIVERSIFIED THE BUSINESS INTO MORE DEFENSE / MEDICAL / TECHNOLOGY SECTORS.

DAVE GOGO AND CHRIS HESLIN ARE NOW MANAGING PARTNERS KEEPING THE BUSINESS IN BOTH FAMILIES.

AS 9100 APPROVAL FOR THE AEROSPACE INDUSTRY. RECEIVE APPROVAL FOR L3 WESCAM FINISHING.

ADD 2K AUTOMATIC MIXING STATIONS AND AN AUTOMATIC SILK SCREEN TABLE.

MOOG AND MDA  AND HEROUX DEVTEK APPROVAL FOR AEROSPACE AND NASA RELATED FINISHING.

RECEIVE VOLVO TRANSPORTATION. START PRODUCTION ON MACK VALVE COVERS.

NEW ISO 9001-2015 DESIGNATION.

2020

  • Doubled Powder Coating capacity to facilitate the painting of 5500 complete units for Winnipeg Ventilators, Starfish Medical and EM Dynamics.
  • Became an integral part of Canada’s COVID -19 Response.

2021

  • Invested in a state-of-the-art Digital Mimaki printer.
  • Upgraded Artwork and Screening Department.
  • Doubled our 3D printing capabilities with the new technology from Form 3D.
  • Added BASF Mixing system 17,000 plus colours available mixed in-house.

2022

Purchased the latest Pre-treatment system from Proceco Typhoon. The largest single investment in the company’s history to serve our customers efficiently.

2022

Added a 26-foot truck for GTA deliveries and beyond, furthering our commitment to our customers for timely service and product safety.

2022

Invested in a new Automated masking machine doubling the size and efficiency of our original system to increase throughput and quality of products and services.

2022

  • Added a Fisnar Gasketing machine to further our capabilities in servicing the EMI/RFI coating needs of our plastic customers coast-to-coast.

FALL 2022

  • Acquire additional 5000 square feet of capacity to add to our production capacity.
  • Added on edge chain paint cell with automated technology to service current and new customers.

2023

  • Plans are in development to add additional powder and baking capabilities.
  • Adding Cosmic Chrome chroming system in Spring of 2023.
  • Achieved 2023 Controlled Goods certification.

2024 – 1st Quarter

  • Going above and beyond while anticipating market changes, mitigating risks and providing our customers with the best quality service.
  • Remain ISO 9001:2015 certified.
  • Reaffirmed AS9100 commitment to registration.

2024 – 2nd and 3rd Quarter

  • Added a Sales Rep to support the US Market Expansion
  • Added PVA Delta 8 for Conformal coatings and masking with ESD flooring
  • Added PVA Delta 8 custom-designed for 5 axis Conductive and shielding coatings
  • Received AS9100D certification Perry Johson
